Surprising Truth About Personal Growth
Discover how embracing your imperfections and learning from patterns can lead to a life you truly love
Dear Beautiful One,
The Journey of Personal Growth. A Candid Reflection
Happy Monday! How are you?
I hope you’re taking a moment to breathe and check in with yourself as another potentially busy week begins.
I know I certainly need that reminder sometimes! (Heck, I have a tattoo of the word “Breathe” on my forearm - that’s how important the reminder is to me.)
Celebrating Milestones and Asking the Big Questions
It wasn’t so long ago that I was reflecting deeply on my own life. I was celebrating a milestone birthday (let’s just say it rhymes with “nifty”), and it got me thinking about the bigger questions:
What am I proud of?
What do I grieve for?
Am I truly where I want to be at this stage in my life?
The answer to that last one, I realized with a sigh, was “no”.
Recognizing Patterns and the Need for Change
“No” because patterns, habits, and identifiers I sometimes cling to had brought me back to a familiar place. A place I’ve been before - many many times.
And we all know what that means … I still had a few things to learn. 🙂
You see beautiful one, it is VERY easy for me to slip back into a VERY comfortable persona I created for myself:
A hardworking, driven, out-of-balance, self-sacrificing version of me. And when I say self-sacrificing, I mean truly sacrificing ME - neglecting my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. It’s not a pretty picture.
I know that version of myself intimately, and honestly, I find comfort in BEing her – I do. That’s why it is so easy to slip back and return to those patterns.
And for awhile, I even enjoy it, and really like her because this version of me feels in control, powerful, strong, contained, and distant - characteristics I formed long ago to protect myself from the parts of the world that scared me.
Learning to Embrace a New Way of Being
But here’s the thing; I am not that scared girl anymore. My Self, however, doesn’t always remember that. It takes consistent reminders and conscious choices to step into a new way of being.
I’ve learned that I can still embody qualities like control, power, strength, containment, and distance, but through a different lens. They become cousins to the originals - similar enough to be related, but different enough to lead me down a new path. And that, beautiful one, is a beautiful thing. 🙂
So, what’s the point of all this soul-baring?
The Power of "It's OK"
I’m writing to remind you (and myself) that “It’s OK”.
It’s ok if you are needing to go through an experience multiple times to learn all you are supposed to learn from it – before you can move to the next phase.
It’s ok if you are repeating patterns and habits that are bringing you back to familiar places – because you have just that bit more awareness, a sharper consciousness every time you show up there.
It’s ok if you don’t know if you’ve EVER loved your Self that deeply – and are taking the baby steps right here with this incredible community to take you closer each and every day.
It’s OK … to be who you are – exactly where you are – because that is the divine timing of your life.
And it’s more than ok … to be smiling right now as you are imagining the incredible brilliance that is yours for the taking. Because life, even with its plot twists and detours, can be truly delightful!
A Promise to Share and Support
I wanted to share this with you to say – I am still learning too. I stumble, backtrack, and sometimes need a few tries to interrupt a pattern.
And I’m making a promise that as I learn, I’ll share it with you, in hopes of being a loving pattern interrupt when you need it most.
Yes, I am a Certified Master Coach beautiful one, AND I am not perfect, don’t always have it all together, and am proud to be a life-long learner.

Love the "OK List" it is definitely OK to repeat things. We learn best when we do things over and we get deeper understanding and experience through repetition. Thanks for writing this, I just subscribed.
That feeling of being in control. Such a powerful illusion, but one that's really hard to let go of.
